Get Rid Of Soap Scum In a Washing motor

I am talking about soap scum. Some detergent products take longer to dissolve. The washer has to have powerful swirling request for retrial in order to allow the water to dissolve detergent particles. But if you use more than the recommended number of detergent, your washer can assuredly obtain soap residues.

What Are The Bad Effects of Soap Scum?

Since most detergents are made up of animal fats or important oils, these ingredients can turn rancid after some time. This creates an unwanted washer smell. It makes your laundry room smell awful.

It also encourages the increase of molds and bacteria. As you know, harbouring molds and bacteria in appliances is unhealthy. They can also assuredly mingle with your clothes.

How Do You Get Rid Of It?

Here are some of the efficient ways on how to get rid of this problem:

Tip 1: Just use hot water cycle. You might want to use the highest temperature setting of your washer. Run an empty water cycle to dissolve soap residues. Let the washer finish in its cleaning cycle. You should also try running an extra rinse cycle to wholly get rid of soap residues.

Tip 2: Use vinegar. Vinegar helps dissolve accumulated detergent residues. Run an empty water cycle in warm water settings and add two cups of distilled white vinegar. Vinegar also has disinfectant properties so it can get rid of bacteria and germs inside your washer. If there are crusty soap residues in the soap compartment of your washer, pre-treat the compartment with vinegar first before running an empty water cycle.

Tip 3: Use baking soda. It has grinder particles that can slough off oil and left-over soap inside your washer. It will make your washer's drum shiny and squeaky-clean. But make sure you use hot water when running baking soda. This will help dissolve baking soda better. Add about half a bag of baking soda. Let the washer dissolve it and use it to clean soap scum.

Tip 4: For residues on the surface of your washer or on the compartments, you can try using lemon juice. Extract about a cup of lemon juice. Mix it with a cup of water and place the blend in a spray bottle. Spray the solution on the affected areas.
