Dream leaving your wet clothes in a cooped up room and leaving them there to dry while a cold, rainy day. When you get back to it, the room will smell awfully musty. This is the same case with your washer.

If it is already there, you can all the time go for the tried and tested cleaning methods. I am talking about the vinegar method. You will just have to run an empty hot water cycle and add a cup of white vinegar to the mixture. Let the washer mix water and white vinegar. If the smell is as a matter of fact severe, pause this for a while to as a matter of fact let the explication get rid of the smell.

After that, drain it like usual. Run an empty hot water cycle again. If you want, after the vinegar cycle, dump half a bag of baking soda in the tub and run an empty cool water cycle. This will help clean the tub and will help get rid of lingering washer smell.

You can run an empty water cycle again to remove any more residues. Afterwards, your washing machine will smell fresh again.
